15 years teaching experience (over 3,000 hours of teaching) and 25 years of practice.
Executive Director for the YAA and Coordinator of Teacher Training and Certification Programs.
Resonating deeply with yoga philosophies, I offer hatha yoga classes, teacher training, philosophy intensives, and immersive workshops that incorporate philosophy, esoteric anatomy and life-enhancing principles of alignment and biomechanics. Classes are accessible with variations for injuries and limitations and are infused with breath work, meditation, and contemplative themes.
A strong advocate for high quality yoga teacher training, I am honoured to offer Teacher Training classes and mentorship through the YAA and also lead the yoga philosophy component of teacher training at Yoga for Today in Sherwood Park. I have served as Coordinator for the YAA Teacher Training & Certification Programs since 2008 and Executive Director since 2021. In 2018 I was invited to sit on the Advisory Group for Teacher Qualifications as part of the Yoga Alliance Standards Review.
Originally trained with the YAA’s apprenticeship-style hatha yoga program, my training spans across several lineages including Anusara and Iyengar. I have also taken training in Yoga Therapy, Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Kids, and Acupressure Massage, as well as university studies in dance, psychology, philosophy, and religious studies.
